Who are the Lucy Girls?

We are a group of women at Fair Grove Church who love God, our Church, community and want to make a difference to the world, starting with our own community.  We pray to be, “God’s Chosen Hands”.

Where did we get our name?

Lucy Webb Hayes was a devout Methodist and the wife of Rutherford A Hayes, the 19th U.S. President. She was a tireless advocate for the distressed and underprivileged. Mrs. Hayes was the first president of the Women’s Home Missionary Society and established a national training school for deaconesses and missionaries. When our church members could not remember our group name, Lucy Webb Hayes Circle, they would just say ” you know…those Lucy girls”.
