United Methodist Women

PURPOSE: The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW of Fair Grove UMC has a long tradition of service. Our fundraising projects allow us to support and participate in community projects such as the backpack program at Fair Grove Elementary, a yearly blood drive, kids clothing distribution, and Cooperative Community Ministry meals.

In the January 2010 Response magazine, the Lucy Girls circle was featured in an article about getting young women in our organization.   Response is the official magazine of the United Methodist Women that is read world wide.

We are part of the Yadkin Valley District in the Western North Carolina Conference United Methodist Women.   We currently have three circles that meet

  • Susanna Wesley meets 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 am.
  • Belle Bennett/Mary Crouse meets 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10 am.
  • Lucy Webb Hayes (aka Lucy Girls) meets 2nd Saturday of each month at 9 am.

If you are looking to make a difference, please consider joining United Methodist Women.
