On Sunday, November 24th, we will sponsor our 6th Annual Bobby Owen Food Drive. Goal for this year is 700 food items for the Fairgrove Family Resource Center.
The food drive began in 2007 from a discussion in our Disciple Bible Study. Bobby Owen, a faithful and loving member of Fair Grove and a Disciple Bible study participant, felt very strongly about the needs in our community; especially the needs of our children. Bobby felt . . .“no child in Fair Grove should go to bed hungry.â€
After Bobby’s death on July 11, 2007, the Disciple Bible Study group spearheaded our first ever food drive in his honor and began our weekly gleaning ministry.
There is still an urgent need for food in our community. Be generous in your giving; help your neighbor. We ask that you bring your nonperishable items to the altar on November 24th for a special blessing by Allan.
